We're partners in this.
I believe that the therapeutic process is a partnership where you and I will work together to meet your goals. You are the expert on your life and I will meet you where you are and together we will create a path forward.
Hello, I'm Lisa.
I have training and experience in a number of therapeutic approaches and recognize that therapy is not "one size fits all."
I believe in the importance of using our shared knowledge and experience in building a path forward. I respect the fact that you are the expert on your life and will spend a lot of time getting to know you, focusing on your strengths and we will build upon these strengths and your past successes to create lasting change.
I meet people where they are.
My approach is based in collaboration and I consider the therapeutic relationship to be key to success and see therapy as a partnership where you and I will work together to meet your goals.
Training & expertise
For over thirty years I have provided therapeutic services to adults, children and families in a number of different mental health settings.
This rich and diverse experience allows me to easily meet you where you are and work collaboratively with you to help you meet your goals. As a former child abuse investigator for Children's Protective Services, I have worked with countless clients in crisis, who have experienced trauma, grief and loss. Utilizing an empathetic, authentic and solution focused approach, I help clients move from a place of distress to one of safety and security, where they can begin the process of healing.
I am passionate about giving back to those who serve or who have served and have cultural competence and experience working with first responders and military members and their families. I have earned certificates in Serving Our Veterans Behavioral Health Care from the Department of Deployment Psychology, am a certified Clinical Trauma Professional through the International Association of Trauma Professionals and have additional training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples and crisis counseling.
I invite you to reach out.
I understand how difficult it can be to ask for help, especially if you are used to solving problems rather than having them. Asking for help can be a big step but one which will put you on the path toward a better future. I have an open and authentic style and offer a free 15-minute consultation where we can discuss your unique situation and how I can help.
